Halloween Parade and Snack & Alternate Activity

Fulton Elementary School Halloween Parade and Snack & Alternate Activity

We will celebrate Halloween at FES on Tuesday, October 31, 2017.  We will also have an alternate activity for those students who do not celebrate Halloween.

Halloween Parade and Snack

Our parade will begin at 2:30pm followed by a classroom snack.

The parade route will circle the perimeter of the building.  The parade will begin on the side of the building facing the main road, classes will walk around to the back of the building and then make a horse shoe coming up the other side of the school towards the front of the building.  Students will walk around the parade route once and then return to their classroom.

Families, we ask that you sign in at the tables setup in front of the building.  We will have several tables, please go to the one with the shortest line, sign in and obtain a badge.  Once you have signed in and receive a badge, we ask that you find a place along the parade route in the spectator area.  We will have spectator areas along the parade route, which will be easily identified.  (Please see the attached map for the spectator area and parade route.)

Classroom snack: If you are sending in a donation for the classroom snack, please ensure these items are dropped off before the parade by 1:00pm. This will allow ample time for room set-up prior to the parade.  Additionally, we will be following the Wellness policy for all snack donations so please ensure your snack aligns.

While we know it is not ideal, due to our large student body and building capacity limits we cannot have all of our families attend the classroom snack.  Every classroom will have two room parents that will help with the set-up of the snack as well as provide guidance to the class during snack.  The room parents will be confirmed by the classroom teacher prior to Tuesday, October 31st. We thank you in advance for respecting this.

Signing-Out: If you would like to take your child with you at the end of the parade, please report to the front office and sign your child out.  Your child will be called down to meet you there.

Costumes

Students should not attend school in their Halloween costume but can wear parts of the costume to school.  All costumes must follow the dress code of HCPSS Board of Education.  No weapons of any kind can be brought into school.  No scary, inappropriate costumes and no masks or face coverings that inhibit the vision of a student will be permitted.  Make up and hair dye cannot be applied at school.

In the event of inclement weather, our parade will be canceled and we will not be able to reschedule.  However, the snack will continue as scheduled.

Alternate Activity

Due to religious, cultural or personal believes, not all families participate in our Halloween celebration.  As a result, we offer an alternate non-Halloween activity.  If your child is not participating in Halloween, please complete the attached form and send it back to school so that we can plan for the number of students that will be participating in the non-Halloween activity.
