FES PTA is here to help support our families during this difficult time. We have compiled a list of online resources to help our students continue to learn and grow while away from school. Let’s stay together even if we can’t be close!

Lunch Doodles

Mo Willems invites YOU into his studio every day for his LUNCH DOODLE. Learners worldwide can draw, doodle and explore new ways of writing by visiting Mo’s studio virtually once a day for the next few weeks.  https://www.kennedy-center.org/education/mo-willems/

Idea Lab Kids HoCo

Idea Lab Kids is hosting FREE Facebook Live streams of STEM projects for young children. Find them on Facebook at Idea Lab Kids Howard County.

Club SciKidz Maryland

Over the next few weeks, Club SciKidz will be bringing you a science, technology or cooking activity each day for children and parents to do together at home, using things that they most likely already have at home. Each day an activity (complete with an instructional video and additional resources for digging deeper) will be posted on our blog. http://www.clubscikidzmd.com/blog/

It also has specialized content from NASA, the Museum of Modern Art, the California Academy of Sciences and MIT. In light of the recent school closures, Khan Academy released daily schedules for students in pre-K through grade 12 to follow from home.

Child Mind Institute

The Child Mind Institute is an independent, national nonprofit dedicated to transforming the lives of children and families struggling with mental health and learning disorders. Child Mind has a list of Covid-19 resources as well as Facebook live chats with experts. Our teams work every day to deliver the highest standards of care, advance the science of the developing brain and empower parents, professionals and policymakers to support children when and where they need it most.

Center for Parent Information & Resources

Center for Parent Information & Resources has compiled a list of resources to address key issues such as multilingual materials to share, places parents can turn to now that schools are closed, and telecommuting tips to help with maintaining social distancing practices.  They will be continually updating what’s here, and posting selective new info via their Facebook and Twitter feeds.
